Terms of Service

Last updated: May 25, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of gigscores.com and related services (the “Service”) operated by GigScores (“GigScores”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

GigScores is a public reputation database for freelancers. Clients of freelancers may submit reviews accompanied by verified proofs. Approved reviews are published publicly. The Service is provided as a public-interest consumer-information infrastructure.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid X (formerly Twitter) account
  • Have legal capacity to enter into binding agreements

By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Reviews you submit

Your representations and warranties

When you submit a review, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have personally engaged the freelancer being reviewed as a client
  • All statements in your review are true, accurate, and based on your first-hand experience
  • All proofs you upload are authentic, unaltered, and obtained lawfully
  • You own or have all necessary rights to upload any files you submit
  • Your review does not infringe any third party’s rights (including privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or contractual rights)
  • Your review does not contain defamatory, illegal, or harmful content

Your accountability

You are solely and personally responsible for the content of any review you submit. GigScores is a hosting platform, not an author. Claims arising from the content of a review must be directed at the reviewer, not at GigScores.

License you grant to GigScores

By submitting any content (review text, ratings, proofs, comments, or other materials) you grant GigScores a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use the content for any purpose related to operating, promoting, or developing the Service or its successors. This license survives any termination of your use of the Service.

Indemnification by you

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GigScores, its operators, contractors, and affiliates from any claim, damage, loss, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from any review or content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

4. Reviews are permanent public records

GigScores operates as a permanent public reputation database. This permanence is the core promise of the Service.

No removal on request. Once a review has been verified by our moderators and made public, it will not be removed merely because the freelancer, reviewer, or any third party asks. This applies regardless of how the request is framed (including under any right-to-be-forgotten provisions, where GigScores relies on the legal exceptions for freedom of expression, public interest, and consumer protection).

Narrow exception: proven proof fraud. GigScores may, in its sole and absolute discretion, remove a review where credible evidence establishes that the proofs accompanying it were fabricated, doctored, or otherwise fraudulent. Whether such evidence is credible, and whether removal is warranted, is determined exclusively by GigScores. Removal in such cases is a discretion, never an obligation.

No appeal. Decisions by GigScores about whether to remove, edit, hide, or restore content are final. There is no appeal process.

5. Moderation rights of GigScores

GigScores reserves the absolute right, at any time and without prior notice or obligation to explain, to:

  • Approve, reject, edit, hide, restore, or modify any review or content
  • Suspend or ban any user from submitting future reviews
  • Remove any freelancer profile (entirely at GigScores’ option, never by demand)
  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
  • Set, change, or enforce community standards as we see fit

These rights are exercised at GigScores’ sole discretion. The exercise (or non-exercise) of any right does not waive any other right.

6. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fabricated reviews
  • Submit forged or altered proofs
  • Submit reviews about yourself or about freelancers you have not actually engaged
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or doxx any person
  • Upload illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful content
  • Attempt to circumvent our verification or moderation systems
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or copy the Service
  • Interfere with the Service’s operation or security
  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law

7. Freelancer information

Freelancer profiles on the Service are populated from publicly available information on X (handle, display name, profile photo) under X’s developer terms. A freelancer does not need to consent to being listed; their public X identity and the reviews submitted by their clients form the basis of their profile. Freelancers cannot demand removal of their profile or of reviews about them, except under the narrow proof-fraud exception in Section 4.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including all software, design, layout, copy, and branding (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by GigScores and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Copyright and infringement notices

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] containing:

  • Your contact information
  • A description of the work you claim is infringed
  • The specific URL of the allegedly infringing content
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the rightsholder or authorized to act for them
  • Your physical or electronic signature

We will review valid notices and act in our sole discretion.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, GIGSCORES DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND ABSENCE OF VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

GIGSCORES MAKES NO REPRESENTATION THAT REVIEWS PUBLISHED ON THE SERVICE ARE ACCURATE, TRUE, OR FREE FROM ERROR. REVIEWS REFLECT THE OPINIONS AND ASSERTIONS OF THEIR INDIVIDUAL AUTHORS, NOT OF GIGSCORES. USERS SHOULD MAKE THEIR OWN INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT BEFORE ACTING ON ANY INFORMATION ON THE SERVICE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GIGSCORES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

GIGSCORES’ TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100 USD) OR (B) ANY AMOUNT YOU PAID GIGSCORES IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

GigScores may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content license, indemnification, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) shall survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Contact
